When the tide is out, lazy days like this are Boa Viagem beach's specialty. Umbrellas like these line the beach, for hourly or daily rent by barraquieros (beach salesmen). The "land" in the back ground is one of the many reefs ("recifes")
that protect the beach from sharks.
